Pantone, a.k.a the authority on consumer color trends, recently announced their annual color of the year. And, for the first time ever, there were 2 winners: Serenity and Rose Quartz.
Serenity, a soothing sky blue, and Rose Quartz, a dusty soft pink, were selected based on trends in consumerism and culture for 2016. How exactly does Pantone select these colors? The process includes surveying fashion and pop culture insiders, including those in film and music.
Sweet. But what does this mean about the year ahead? According to Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, together the colors “demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.”
