Smoothies have so many amazing benefits! My favorite ones are loaded with nutrients, which a lot of us are missing out on in our day-to-day diets.
As summer begins, so does berry season. I don’t know about you but I’ve missed fresh blueberries and strawberries, and now they are finally back in season. Berries are one of my favorite smoothie ingredients because they are the fruits with the least amount of natural sugar in them, making it easy for the body to digest and process.
Today I’m sharing a fun summer treat: a layered triple berry smoothie! This is a great smoothie to make if you have young children or if you’re a child at heart, like me. Either way, this will leave you feeling happy and your tummy satisfied. Enjoy!
Combine all ingredients into the blender and blend together until smooth and creamy. If it’s not coming together add a bit more milk and if the smoothie is too runny add some ice cubes.
Once it’s the consistency you like, add the blueberry smoothie to a bowl and place into the freezer while you make the third layer.
Rinse blender before moving on to the last layer.
Third Layer: Strawberry Banana
¼ cup cashew milk (or milk of choice)
½ of a frozen banana
½ cup fresh or frozen strawberries
1 scoop Vital Proteins Vanilla Whey/Peptides
Ice cubes if needed
Combine all ingredients into the blender and blend together until smooth and creamy. If it’s not coming together add a bit more milk and if the smoothie is too runny add some ice cubes. Once it’s the consistency you like, set aside.
Remove the raspberry pineapple and blueberry smoothie bowls from the freezer and get your glasses out for assembly. Begin by placing half of the Raspberry Pineapple smoothie into the first glass and the other half into the second glass, use a spatula or spoon to make sure it’s even all the way around the glass. Then feel free to add some fresh or frozen berries in between to separate the layers a bit – I added some extra frozen blueberries! Take the blueberry smoothie and begin to layer that on top of the raspberry layer, until evenly distributed between both glasses. Then take the strawberry banana smoothie and layer it on top of the blueberry smoothie.
Top with coconut shreds, honey, granola, bee pollen or more fruit and you are set for a summer treat filled with healthy fruits, veggies, collagen for healthy bones and joints, and a bit of whey protein to help fuel your body and keep you full.
