Imagine the last time you were feeling stressed out or down about something. How did you handle it? Did you talk yourself out of it with positive words or give into the negative thoughts?

Our inner thoughts play host to all sorts of negativity—which is exactly the opposite of what we need to show that we are pretty/smart/strong or whatever we want to be channeling. It may sound hokey, but there is an easy way to boost your confidence when it’s flagging: affirmations.”
What exactly are affirmations? Simple. Affirmations mean talking to yourself in positive phrases—often while looking at yourself in the mirror. Some examples could be, “I am beautiful” or “I am lovable.” And while looking in the mirror and talking to yourself can seem a bit silly, research shows affirmations actually do work in giving you a confidence boost.
