Home Decor Hacks For Fall

Pumpkin spice is officially in the air, and everyone’s breaking out their cozy cardigans and booties. Yes – fall is here, y’all! But wait – does your home reflect the seasonal change?

Not to worry, even for the busiest among us. We’ve collected a few super simple ways to decorate for fall, making your home even more autumnal without even making you break a sweat (or empty your checking account) in the process.

Ready? Here we go:

1. Bring in the gourds

It’s not fall without pumpkins! Simply buy some pumpkins or interesting gourds from your local farmers market or grocery store and place them thoughtfully in clusters around your home. Voila! If you’re feeling extra creative, try filling vases or bowls with smaller gourds and use them as centerpieces.

2. Lights, candles, autumn

Nothing transforms a room into a cozy hangout quite like a fall-scented candle. Simply add autumn-scented candles, such as pumpkin spice, moss or fig to your favorite hangouts. Looking for more of a sparkle? Use twine to tie fall leaves to electric string lights, and place them at varying heights on a wall or mantle.

3. Fall florals go a long way

Flowers are a quick-fix for any dull space. Choose autumnal floral arrangements, featuring seasonal flowers and shrubbery. If you’re feeling extra crafty (or just can’t get enough pumpkin), try using a small-ish, hollowed out pumpkin (real or fake) as a vase.

4. Snuggle up to textiles

That cozy fall feeling usually includes cozy knits, such as sweaters, blankets and pillows. This is definitely the season to bring those comfy textiles into your living space. Top off your couch with additional throw blankets and autumn-toned pillows. Or simply place baskets – both large and small – around the house to hold your oh-so fall items.

5. Fill your fireplace with seasonal flair

The fireplace is the visual focus of a living room, so bring that focus into fall. Fill a non-working fireplace with pumpkins, adding not just seasonal flair but also a nice pop of color to your living room. (Tip: Keep it fall-neutral. Don’t make the pumpkins look like jack o’lanterns, so this arrangement can last through Thanksgiving.)
